What an exciting week!!! I have an amazing, amazing, amazing group of 17 children. They are from the US, S. Korea, Kenya, and Europe, and one from Riverside, CA.!!! How awsome is that :) You can imagine the smile that came upon my face when I found that out the first day of school!!! They are an incredibly studious group and are so excited to learn. It was a full week of school so we jumped right in. We have connected so much already and I am called Mwulingu Luna or Miss Luna. Yes, I have been taking Swahili with my students twice a week. We are putting it into practice for sure. We had an ice cream social last night and I was able to join the children in games and of course ICE CREAM! They did without a doubt, learn the Friday song and all our special names for the days of the week. Life at RVA is different but these children love the Lord and are so connected to Him. They all have pretty wild and amazing stories as missionary children, have lived in many places around the world and have seen and been part of God's incredible work. Please keep them and their families ministries in your prayers. The dorm students are still adjusting to dorm life again and being away from their families. They have blessed me and have made me feel so welcomed. I would have to say that teaching the Old Testament is still my favorite and that it is going to be one incredible school year with many stories to share...keep checking the blogs (well, as long as my Internet stays running :) )
