Silenced.

"From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies to silence the foe and the avenger." Psalm 8:2

Since my time here in Kenya, I have continually been led to the throne of God during worship, each time Children have been leading the songs. There has been an overwhelming sense of the Holy Spirit and a smile and victory that come over me because through these precious children, both Kenyans and my missionary kids, Satan has been silenced.
During VBS in the Pangani and Kimiko slums, with children's voices lifted to the Lord, Satan has been silenced. During worship services at Joska Boarding School, Satan has been silenced. During chapel and music time with my students at RVA, Satan has been silenced. During student led high school Sunday night worship services here at RVA, Satan has been silenced.

There is no better sound then no sound at all after a joyful noise has been made to the Lord. We will song and make music with the heavens, we will not be silent.

Hiking Day or School?

Living at RVA has its many adventures...like taking a day to go hiking with my kids! Beats doing math any day! Would you agree?

Titchie Weekened

This weekend was a special weekend dedicated to just the Titchie's! Our Elementary (Titchie) Parents came out to see their kids, we had spirit dress, field activities, and Senior Store where we enjoyed homemade donuts and I especially enjoyed the German Braut! My kids sang in church today as well. They bring such joy to my heart! Check out our weekend...

RVA Whirlwind

So so much going on. My classroom has continued to be a blessing. My kids are precious! We had a Titchie Staff Hunt, so Friday night teachers hid in the dark around campus and the kids set out to find us! I was able to visit with the Kurz on Saturday in Nairobi. It was so nice to be with them, they are my family away from family. This was a special day as well because I finally was able to buy a pair of running shoes. Of course now that I have shoes, I had to play volleyball with the Kenyans that play every Sunday afternoon. Not a bad match! It was a blast!!!! Can't wait to play every Sunday. Received some birthday presents in the mail, notice the my favorite candy in the picture :) Yesterday, I was able to go up the hill into Kijabe with my two buddies, Jenny and Amanda, to visit our friend and helper Bernice and her son Dennis for his 6th Birthday. It was a blessing to visit in a Kenyan home and see Dennis enjoy his cake immensely. So much going on, just trying to take it all in and see God in the midst of all the blessings and whirlwind of events. Thinking about you all.

Astonishing, reliable, phenomenal, wonderful, astounding, spectacular, remarkable, admirable, extraordinary, and worthy is our God!

Little Lambs

Today was RVA Outreach Day! I headed back to Little Lambs Orphanage with a group of students and teacher friends. What a blast it is to be able to go and love and play with kids with our students. Even our little RVArs came along and jumped right in on the fun, the kids loved it! It was so special to see the students interact with the children in the most loving manner. In the picture above, Savy is dancing around with Faith who is one of the children from Little Lambs. I had the blessing of hanging out with my new wonderful houseworker Scoivia's son Michael. Check out his smile!!!

Also made a new friend who is new to the orphanage, her name is Hannah. She pretty much clung to me the whole time as we played bubbles, made bracelets, and tried to play soccer.

Isn't she precious!

Can't wait to go back again next week. As hard as it is to leave them in the end, I love knowing I'm here for a while and can continue building the relationship that God started. Please pray for those that have found comfort and safety at Little Lambs as they are loved in Jesus name.

(P.S. I told you it was cold!)

RVA 5th Grade!

What an exciting week!!! I have an amazing, amazing, amazing group of 17 children. They are from the US, S. Korea, Kenya, and Europe, and one from Riverside, CA.!!! How awsome is that :) You can imagine the smile that came upon my face when I found that out the first day of school!!! They are an incredibly studious group and are so excited to learn. It was a full week of school so we jumped right in. We have connected so much already and I am called Mwulingu Luna or Miss Luna. Yes, I have been taking Swahili with my students twice a week. We are putting it into practice for sure. We had an ice cream social last night and I was able to join the children in games and of course ICE CREAM! They did without a doubt, learn the Friday song and all our special names for the days of the week. Life at RVA is different but these children love the Lord and are so connected to Him. They all have pretty wild and amazing stories as missionary children, have lived in many places around the world and have seen and been part of God's incredible work. Please keep them and their families ministries in your prayers. The dorm students are still adjusting to dorm life again and being away from their families. They have blessed me and have made me feel so welcomed. I would have to say that teaching the Old Testament is still my favorite and that it is going to be one incredible school year with many stories to share...keep checking the blogs (well, as long as my Internet stays running :) )
